How do Shot Blasting Machines Work?

Our shot blasting machines operate based on what the industry calls “wheel technology” which provides a vacuum system that keeps the “steel shot” pellets, floor surface particles and contaminants from escaping outside the machine and into the air. The process removes the surface of the floor when small pellets (shot) are propelled at a high velocity to the floor, thus blasting the surface.

Shot blasting is a fast, cost effective process in which the shot can be separated from the debris that is removed from the floor surface and then can be used again.

Why are PSP's Shot Blasting Machines Superior?

Here at Precision Surface Preparation, we always use 15" diameter shot blasting machines (exclusively using BLASTRAC 1-15DSMKIII 15-inch Blast heads) instead of the 8" and 10" blasting machines used by others in the industry.  This reduces the number of passes and line patterns.  In this way, we are able to provide exactly the floor surface profile that you require in the shortest time frame.

What Sort of oCapacity Can You Expect with PSP?

The capacity of our shot blasting machines varies depending upon the condition of the concrete floor before blasting is done.  When doing brush blasting (of a new concrete floor), our typical capacity would be up to 30,000 sq. ft. per day.  However, various floor coatings and/or moisture will reduce the speed of the job and thus the capacity.
